IQ: Intelligence or Irrelevance
Quotient?
"As a confirmed sceptic I think that attempts at measuring intelligence are always
going to be dogged with problems, not least of which is an accepted definition of
intelligence. The crude use of numbers tends to lead to the erroneous view that someone
with a higher IQ is therefore necessarily more intelligent, or vice versa. This and
attempts at measuring the heritability of intelligence are really nothing more than
seductive pseudoscience, the results of which have been (and are) used to justify
prejudice, racism, eugenics, and social policy."
